Five years after opening in the former Gourmet Burger site on Wilmslow Road (where has that time gone?), CROMA are now an established favourite in Didsbury village.

“Our work is still not done,” explains Michael Baker, Director and Managing Partner.  “Running a restaurant is a 24/7 commitment, and there is always a need to keep things fresh, add new products and keep guests engaged and interested. We also have a responsibility to actively support community causes and initiatives.”  

CROMA are currently in their second year of supporting Maggie’s Manchester through donations raised by selling monthly specials. Their current spicy vegetable linguine is flying out. Guests can enjoy new dishes and at the same time directly make a contribution to a very worthwhile cause.

On the food and beverage front, keeping it local is very much on the menu.  

Having made regular trips to Ice Shack, the very cool all-vegan dessert parlour in Withington, Michael fell in love with what he describes as “the best ice cream I have ever tasted anywhere in the world.” The vegan flavours are so pure and a couple of amazing options, raspberry ripple and salted caramel, now sit in pride of place on the dessert menu. 

Didsbury Gin, Burton Road Pale Ale and the soon-to-be-listed Citra Pale Ale (produced by the Ragazzi across the street at Casa Italia) all now form part of the beverage range, keeping CROMA and M20 very much in people’s minds when choosing a dining-out experience.
