Mrs South Africa Semi-Finalist Yanela discovered that in the UK  there was no platform for beautiful & intelligent African women living in the UK to represent as brand ambassadors.

After a great deal of research and being in the industry as a semi-finalist, Yanela set out to create something spectacular bringing awareness  focusing on African women based in the UK of all shapes and sizes aimed at Married/Unmarried women between the age of 30-50 with African roots or family links. Yanela aims to smash the traditional myth of typical beauty pageant aimed at young girls with slim figures and single. This is definitely breaking the boundaries which is why the message is so valuable.

Yanela wanted to change the whole concept of the traditional “beauty pageant” offering so much more in the way of an empowerment programme for 2020. The search starts now following the launch for women who are relatable, strong, brave and driven (are the words Yanela expresses to describe her vision). Yanela decided to passionately get the message across to potential sponsors and professional contacts  in the way of a lavish launch party and showcase on December 1st 2019.

The party was held at Cloud 23 (The Hilton Hotel) Manchester, and organised by The Edge Events. The PR company managed the guest list and guests included many high profile contacts.

Gracing the red carpet was:-

Guests were treated to a glass of champagne on arrival as well as a selection of cocktails and mouth watering canapés. An incredible Violinist who really set the tone for the launch.

The decor was extremely elegant with vibrant flowers and  back drop.   Yanela took the stage with co host Mnoe in full attire. The stylish pair could easily have been mistaken for film stars bringing the glam and wow factor!

The event came alive when the surprise act Winnie, African dancer, took the floor by storm and entertained with a quirky African dance while guests gathered round and applauded.

To end the event Samantha Leslie Award winning singer took the party to the next level as guests danced while the sun set beautifully, It was simply a magical day.

The search begins for Mrs Africa UK and Miss Plus Africa UK 2020 and more!
