The Creative Network welcomes Timperley based designer, Victoria Clegg, founder of new luxury loungewear brand, Victoria Seraphina, to speak at its next meeting on the 19th October at The Con Club in Altrincham at 7.00pm.
Victoria will describe the development of her brand from original concept to its launch in September. It has required Victoria to tackle a steep learning curve not to mention many late nights sewing! The evening will be an opportunity to see Victoria’s gorgeous creations. Victoria’s passion for the golden era of Hollywood is reflected in the vintage elegance and sumptuous fabrics of her robes, separates, lingerie and bridal wear which are all handmade in small batches. Elle Magazine recognised the beauty of her garments and featured them in December 2016 – long before the collection was complete!
Victoria designs and creates the garments herself, guaranteeing exclusivity. An accomplished seamstress, Victoria makes her own patterns and hand sews every piece. The work is labour intensive with the signature satin robe requiring seven metres of fabric and 15 hours to make. The silks, organza and satin Victoria uses are all sourced from the UK with the guipure lace being imported from France. Future plans include themed collections named ‘Gothic’, ‘Snow Queen’ and ‘New York.’
These are not garments for everyday wear but are for special occasions and those times when only something very beautiful will do. Victoria’s aim is to offer her customers a handmade product in a luxurious fabric but at a more accessible price than the big designer names. In addition to her ‘off the peg’ collections, Victoria is also able to offer a bespoke service which is especially popular with bridal customers. Victoria’s new website https://victoriaseraphina.com/ contains more details of her work.
Jennifer Gibson will also be showcasing her collection of individually sourced, original 20th Century Vintage Jewellery, including pieces by renowned fashion houses such as Dior and Chanel.
