The readers of The Telegraph’s luxury travel magazine, Ultratravel, are invited to vote for their preferred holiday providers and destinations. The winners and runners up are announced each year at The ULTRAS – Ultimate Luxury Travel Related Awards.
On 22 May 2017, the results for the 2017 ULTRAS were revealed at a reception and ceremony hosted at the iconic London Savoy hotel. The evening celebrated the very best in luxury travel, attended by some of the most important movers and shakers in the world of luxury travel.
Accolades were awarded to The Ritz (Best Hotel in Europe), Gleneagles (Best Golf Resort in the World) and Corinthia Hotel London (ULTRATRAVEL Collection Hotel of the Year).
Special guests at the event included Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, HRH Princess Beatrice of York and HRH Princess Eugenie of York. British personalities in attendance included Irish singer Ronan Keating and his wife Storm, radio and television presenter Vernon Kay, former English rugby player Mike Tindall and golf professional Justin Rose.
Representing her charity Children in Crisis, the Duchess of York spoke about the organisation’s efforts to provide impoverished and disposed children with access to education.
Guests arrived to a Champagne reception and were later escorted to the Savoy’s Lancaster Ballroom for the awards presentation. Dinner followed, with guests invited to stay for a post-dinner drinks reception.
