The story began with two brothers…
Hyrum and Josh had an early introduction to fashion and trade, spending many long nights with their grandparents cutting and sewing beautiful bridesmaid dresses before waking early to make gruelling 6am market sales trips around the North West. It was here that they discovered their love of the trade and together decided they would one day create a brand of their own.
At 18 and 20, Hyrum and Josh founded Zeven Media, which quickly became the UK’s largest provider of technology for retail stores and events. They appeared with the company on BBC’s Dragons’ Den, gaining investment from Deborah Meaden. This gave them a great grounding in technology and media, allowing them to learn, network and grow.
Inspiration struck on a Saturday afternoon when they encountered a flustered gym-goer dressed head to toe in an eye-catching neon pink gym set, self-consciously navigating hoards of shoppers with her head down. They quickly realised that while women that were shopping in gym wear, they were forced to compromise on style in garish gear that didn’t translate to their post-gym social activities.
Aware that there was nothing on the active wear market offering this combination of function and fashion, they took the plunge and poured all of their knowledge and experience into finding a stylish solution. Six months later, Adanola was born.
Stylish, accessible, athleisure wear for women – from a busy mum dashing from the school run to Pilates, to a student running from lectures to drinks with friends – Adanola fits seamlessly into every woman’s life.
Since the launch 18 months ago, Hyrum and Josh are proud to say that Adanola has gained a committed customer base from over 45 countries worldwide, with 46% of which is in the USA and Australia. Not bad for a start-up brand from Manchester with zero marketing spend!
Adanola’s use of Social Media has played an integral role in the company’s growth and enabled them to build their influencer community, catching the eye of leading, international health and fitness influencers namely Kelsey Wells (aka MySweatLife) and Yola For the Win amongst others. They have gained a 50,000-strong following across all their social media channels.
In addition to offering beautiful active wear, the Adanola brand also aims to inspire women everywhere.
The #Adagirls community is a place where women feel empowered to work out in an encouraging and inclusive environment, a place where they are supported and emboldened to go out and achieve their dreams.
The Adanola’s ‘Sweat in the City’ events in New York and London have already been a huge success, attracting inspirational hosts such as powerful health and fitness influencers Kelsey Wells (aka MySweatLife) and Clean Eating Alice.
As it continues its journey Adanola is focused on creating a sleek, fashionable and technically great product that can be worn in all areas of women’s lives, encouraging them to join in and bring the #Adagirl community together every step of the way.
Adanola is about helping to achieve your goals whatever they may be.
