The Lowry Hotel enters competition with gourmet five star burger
Known for great food with a double AA rosette, The Lowry Hotel put its in-house restaurant to the test again at the National Burger Awards 2017.
After hundreds of entries, only 16 made it through to the final round, with The Lowry Hotel being the only hotel to make it through to the final.
Finalists took part in three separate challenges, the first being a signature round, where contestants made the gourmet burger they entered with, for the judges to try. The second round saw contestants try a technical challenge where they made a burger out of selected ingredients. Finally, the third round had contestants make a burger out of the Booker Mystery Box.
The Lowry Hotel entered the competition with Sous Chef Ivo Pinto cooking his famous ‘Lowry Five Star’ burger. The gourmet burger combines Cheshire beef brisket with caramelised onions, treacle cured streaky bacon and Godminster vintage cheddar, served with homemade mayonnaise and tomato ketchup, romaine lettuce, heirloom tomatoes and pickled baby cucumber.

Ivo at the Lowry hotel won the Technical Round of the burger competition. The gourmet Lowry Five Star Burger is available to try at the Lowry Hotel River Bar.
