Stonegate Pub Company wins top industry awards

Managing a successful pub company takes an unparalleled understanding of the diverse needs of today’s customer, and that is what owner of brands such as Yates, Slug & Lettuce and the newly refurbished Lost Dene on Deansgate has proven, after winning a plethora of national industry awards. These accolades include: Best Managed Pub Company, Best Late Night Operator and Best Employer (Highly Commended). This adds to their recent win for Menu Innovation with the Best Premium High Street Pub Menu for their Town Pub and Kitchen concept.

Stonegate Pub Company started with 333 sites 7 years ago, and through acquisition has grown to circa 700 venues, whilst breathing new life into pubs that were formerly closed or unloved.

The largest, recognisably best privately owned managed pub company in the UK, is Stonegate. Stonegate is renowned for its investment in people, having won many national accolades for its people development and bar to board career development ethos.

Whilst half of the estate is operated across seven brands, fifty per cent are unbranded, traditional pubs at the heart of their communities. Industry leaders judging the awards spoke of how the company’s empowerment of its managers and enabling of individuality, was a huge contributor to its success.

Community spirit, careers, training, innovation and safe environments made the company stand out, beating competitors such as Fuller’s, Deltic, Novus Leisure, Shepherd Neame, and Wadworths to win the prestigious awards.

Chief Executive Simon Longbottom said: “It is a great honour to receive these awards and if there was just one award you would want to win, it has to be Best Managed Pub Company. This recognition is a reflection of the great teams in our pubs and bars across the country, and the individuality they bring to their communities.”
