One of Britain’s best-loved comedians, Peter Kay, has cut the ribbon on Manchester’s most exciting new attraction – Treetop Nets.
The Bolton born star opened up the brand new Heaton Park treetop adventure park on 26th May, signalling its official opening to the public.
The park, which has been in development for over four months and features sky-high giant bouncy nets with walkways, slides and tunnels, opens just in time for the half-term holidays. It will provide a great way to make the most of the finer weather and enables the families of Manchester to run, bounce, climb and slide their way through the treetops of Europe’s largest municipal park, while enjoying the fresh air, immersed in nature.
Following the cutting of the ribbon, Peter and his family took to the nets for a two hour treetop adventure in the Manchester sunshine.
Funny man, Peter Kay, said: “Treetop Nets at Heaton Park is exciting and energetic for all ages of children. Lovingly created and great fun for all the family.”
Treetop Nets’ sister attraction Treetop Trek is set to open, completing the treetop adventure park, in July. The biggest treetop adventure course of its kind in the UK, Treetop Trek will feature Europe’s longest belay ropes course and over 20 zip wires.
Mike Turner, Managing Director of Treetop Trek, said: “We were absolutely delighted to have Peter and his family here to help officially open our new Heaton Park site. Peter’s a local family man, we’re massive fans and just over the moon to welcome him.”
