So when The Lynton Clinic, invited me to their centre of excellence in Cheadle, I was only too happy to oblige. This clinic offers the most advanced Laser and IPL hair removal, skin rejuvenation, acne treatment and pigment removal treatments. My skin rejuvenation plan began with a private consultation and skin analysis whereby a skin imaging and consulation system views up to 2mm beneath the surface of your skin, which enables the consultant to analyse the skin components responsible for how aged the skin looks. It views blood (redness), melanin and sun damage, and based on this, it calculates your skin age score. Scientific research has shown that an even skin tone can reduce the appearance of age by as much as twenty years. When we are young we have an even, luminous skin tone. However, as we age our skin often gets thinner, dull and skin tone becomes blotchy making us appear older. A course of IPL treatment was recommended to zap away unwanted freckles and sunspots whilst stimulating new collagen production for firmer, fresher skin. Whilst considered a lunch time procedure I was told that sun spots and pigment can darken and appear more obvious for up to a week. Bearing all of this in mind, along with the fact that I do have some sun damage, and I was off to a family wedding the following day and needed a glow, I decided to go for the Thermaclinic Radiofrequency Treatment. This is an effective treatment for skin tightening and wrinkle reduction. It also improves skin quality and texture, leaving your skin brighter and younger looking. Thermaclinic Radiofrequency (RF) works by applying radiofrequency energy to the skin. A thin layer of gel is applied to the area being treated and an applicator that delivers the RF energy is moved in circular motions to warm the skin. Once the desired temperature was reached it is then maintained for a few minutes for optimal effect. The treatment took about 1 hour and the gel was then removed and a firming treatment mask was applied. Immediately after the treatment my skin was a little pink, giving a healthy glow and my skin appeared firmer. For optimum benefit I was advised to undergo a course of 6 treatments with a treatment every 2-3 weeks. But following a course of treatments, results are expected to last 1-2 years. So once I’ve finished my course of treatments you won’t recognise me. The Lynton Clinic 0161 491 1965 |

I’ve looked after my skin as long as I can remember. I think I started with Ponds facial cream when I was about 13. When I started my first Saturday job I progressed to Yves Rocher, then when I started work I used to alternate between Clarins and Clinique. So skincare has been a big part of my daily routine from a very early age. Buying skin care for me was probably more important than buying clothes. I rarely went in to a salon for a facial, but I would use a facial steamer and a homemade facemask. Nowadays I prefer to opt for salon treatments.
