Children from Trafford Primary Schools will be exhibiting posters that they have created about the world of work and their future career aspirations at an innovative exhibition in Sale Library this summer.
The CareerScape Exhibition will start on Monday the 17th July and is the culmination of a careers education programme that the children have been working on with local careers education provider, We Aspire. Everyone is welcome to come along and see the fantastic creative work produced by the children of Elmridge Primary School in Hale Barns; Woodheys, Wellfield and The Firs Primary Schools in Sale; Acre Hall Primary School in Flixton and Highfield Primary School in Urmston.
We Aspire was set up in 2012 by Nursel Tok, a Sale-based career guidance professional in response to a government report showing that children benefit from starting their career exploration in primary schools. Nursel’s mission is to give the children a sense of their own abilities and to empower them to take control of their learning and their futures through the Aspirations Programme.
As well as showcasing the children’s creative work the exhibition will also give Trafford children the opportunity to learn about jobs that people were doing a hundred years ago and the jobs that they may be doing in the future through displays and interactive games.
The exhibition has received a grant from Make Sale Smile, part of the Trafford Partnership. It will be open to the public from the 17 July to the 8 September. Parents are encouraged to bring their children to inspire them to think about their own future career journey.
