Claire Bennison, Head of Services & Product Development at Manchester-based investment management firm Brooks Macdonald, is completing a major challenge in Jersey on 5 -10 June in aid of The Christie charity in Manchester.
The challenge involves a 100km (62 mile) run and walk, followed by a 200 mile cycle ride (322km) and a 66km swim (41 nautical mile and weather dependant) around Jersey. Claire is embarking on this feat to raise money on behalf of The Christie charity, which supports the work of The Christie NHS Foundation Trust through fundraising activities, and delivers projects, equipment and improvements that are over and above what the NHS funds. The charity has over 43,000 supporters who helped raise £14.4m last year.
Claire Bennison, Head of Services & Product Development, at Brooks Macdonald said:
“The Christie is Europe’s largest single-site cancer centre and treats more than 44,000 patients a year and both Brooks Macdonald and I are passionate about its work. Brooks Macdonald has also previously sponsored the annual Christie Ball which took place in March 2017and raised £170,000. As a firm we are great supporters of the charity. Personally, I have never set myself a challenge like this before, and have never done open swimming in Jersey, but I’m determined to step up to the mark.”
